Vampire Weekend
In honor of me having to sell my ticket to their upcoming concert in April, I thought the least I could do was dedicate a blog post about them! (Can't go because I'm broke) I saw Vampire Weekend at ACL this past year and I absolutely loved them. I've been following them casually over the years, mainly because of Sofie, and have genuinely loved their music. I also loved the way they made the crowd dance and listen to their words. It's really cool to see a band move their audience and I think Vampire Weekend definitely achieved that. Also, the main singer, Ezra, was decked out in a full body jump suit. In Austin. Where it is hot. All the time. So man I was feeling for him up there. My favorite song right now is Unbelievers and Oxford Comma. I think Oxford Comma is the funniest song, it kinda brings out my inner nerd a lil bit. And an oldie but a goodie that was my first Vampire Weekend to be exposed to was The Kids Don't Stand a Chance. LOVE it.

I really want to like Vampire Weekend. It just doesn't ring my bell. However, you should come get the Auroravore album from me, and then go check them out live. Listen at http://www.auroravore.com/auroravore/
ReplyDeleteThere's no afrobeat influence in it, but it lives at that nexus of indie rock and dance music.
